I'm sorry first of all. Since there are various non-tariff barriers that differ depending on the destination country, we cannot ship meat overseas.
*Since September 2001, Japan has been a BSE-prone country, so exports of beef from Japan are currently not permitted in most countries.
What are meat products (meat and processed meat products)?
■Meat is not the only item subject to quarantine when taken out or brought in overseas. Processed meat products such as ham, bacon, sausage, and beef jerky are also included.
■Also, the following "livestock products" are subject to quarantine.
Bone, eggs, fat, blood, skin, fur, feathers, horns, hooves, and other processed products of these products ■Procedures are required not only for meat products, but also for pets and other animals. Both procedures are performed at the Animal Quarantine Service.
About taking meat products overseas
■"Inspection certificate" for the country you want to bring is required.
The conditions differ from country to country, and also from time to time, depending on the state of outbreaks of livestock diseases.
■The inspection certificate will be issued by the Animal Quarantine Service.

<Example: Donating meat to America>
1.Inquire about the current conditions at the time of shipment at the US Embassy in Tokyo, attach a certificate that meets the conditions, and obtain a stamp of approval.
2. If you are going to ship or take out from Kobe, bring the documents with the permission stamp to the Kobe Animal Quarantine Service and have them issue a certificate.
Note) However, since the export conditions for "meat" are quite strict and almost impossible, we do not ship overseas. In addition, as of 2005, Japan is a country with an outbreak of BSE, so exports are no longer possible.
About bringing meat products into Japan
■Meat products (beef, beef jerky, sausages, etc.) from foreign countries may or may not be brought into Japan due to the outbreak of livestock diseases.
■Even if you are from a country where you can bring in, you will need an "inspection certificate" for Japan. Please note that even if the salesperson says, "Yes, you can," you can't bring it in unless you have it inspected for Japan in that country and obtain an inspection certificate.
■Duty-free shops in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore seem to sell products with inspection certificates for Japan from the beginning.
