It is now possible to export beef accessories (souvenirs, etc.) to Singapore.
Good news for customers who want to bring Kobe beef to Singapore as a souvenir.
According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries on January 15, 2016, up to 5 kg per person can now be taken out by undergoing simple quarantine.
( 2016/1/15 Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries press release http://www.maff.go.jp/j/press/syouan/douei/160115_1.html )
In short,
- be for personal consumption
- Carry-on weight must not exceed 5 kg per person
- Be derived from Japanese cattle or pigs and be commercially available
Under the condition, a "simple certificate" will be issued for meat that has been inspected by the Animal Quarantine Service, making it possible to bring it into Singapore as a carry-on item.
For example, if you buy a meat product with a product label or document showing that it is produced in Japan at a butcher shop or supermarket, and bring it to the Animal Quarantine Service, you can receive a simple inspection free of charge and legally. You can bring it into Singapore.
It is possible to undergo a simple inspection as an individual customer at the Animal Quarantine Service at the airport, but it will take some time.
For the Kobe beef (including Halal Kobe beef) sold at Tatsuya, we plan to complete animal quarantine in advance and prepare the product with a "simple certificate" ( export quarantine certificate ) attached. Please contact us. →Contact us
